Beneath the bespangled sky, stars glittered like shards of glass across a rich velvet inky blackness and dark dramatic clouds framed the indigo-blue of the horizon. Cars crawled like beetles, flashing crimson taillights, and mighty buildings with towering spires and winking windows like tiny golden eyes dominated the cityscape.

As the night slowly gathered and the city was plunged into darkness, the cerulean-gold rays from the dying sun vanished, leaving pressing darkness in its wake.

There were more stars on the ground than in the sky and as the full splendour of the flashing colours and bustling brightness of the city’s nightlife became apparent, more and more cars emerged from their moonlit garages to join the growing throng on the rapidly-moving road.
