Never be the same

Sadness is like sitting in a downpour of rain,

It washes you empty, and drowns out your hope,

Oh, you’ll never be the same.

Anger is like a flickering flame,

It boils in your veins and bubbles up inside,

Oh, you’ll never be the same.

Happiness is like an arrow when you aim,

It flies straight and true, and never falters,

Oh, you’ll never be the same.

Oppression is like a painting in a frame,

You’re caged within yourself, no escape,

Oh, you’ll never be the same.

Reputation leaves you with a tainted name,

It withers you and leaves you cold,

Oh, you’ll never be the same.

Never be the same.
